First, my business cards finally arrived in the mail. I bought a postal scale off eBay a few weeks ago and paid for it entirely with the money I earned off superpoints.com. Honestly, I have never sold anything on eBay; I've only been a buyer. I used to sell on Yahoo! auctions, but never on eBay. I posted the Smurfs lunchbox for sale on eBay this weekend. My son and I went to Goodwill on Labor Day and came away with an armful. He picked out a $0.59 Backyardigans book and a $2 big Thomas the Tank Engine bouncy ball with a handle for him to bounce on it. We also found him a pair of Cars slippers for $1. I got a pair of Earth Spirit sandals for $5. They are comfy and retail for $20+ at stores. I found a 25th Anniversary Care-A-Lot Care Bear with a silver nose and feet for $1. It even has a partial tag. His nose is a bit dirty, but I'll work on that and get it on eBay. Some are selling for $20 on eBay. My son picked up a pretty cute monkey for $2. It wasn't until we got home that I realized it is a Build-a-Bear monkey. Perfect! The neighbor's grandkids had those bears around this summer and he wanted a monkey like the grandson had. He didn't seem too interested in actually making one, so this is perfect. Those bears sell for $8-20 and more at the store. Here is a pic of the stuffed animals and shoes....

My son and I hit many garage sales a few weekends ago and I went to Savers alone. He scored more toy cars and a VERY large stuffed catepillar...and a pretty awesome Kelly Playground (Barbie's kid sister). But, I also scored a few things. I found a Care Bear to resell as well as a Smurfs lunch box and a Get Along Gang metal cake pan. I also found a brown wool hat that I will use towards the halloween costume this year. Here's a picture of a few of my favorite finds.

It had been years since I visited the Flea Market at the Fairgrounds on Central. My 4-year old son enjoys garage sales and I decided to introduce him to the flea market. On our way through Rio Rancho, we stopped at a large sale in a bank parking lot. DS picked out a toy train and a toy microphone for a quarter each. I found a camelbak for $10 and a GREAT purse for $1. We stopped for breakfast and unfortunately finally made it out to the flea market once it was hot. We made it to only a few booths before DS sat down in the shade. I coaxed him along with fruit snacks...and then a lemonade from one of the booths. He bought 2 toy cars for $1. I found a My Little Pony Show Stable for a quarter!!! But..I couldn't find my bag of change and thought I left it at the last booth where we bought the cars. Nope. Not there. I had enough loose change to buy the Stable, but had lost my steam by then because I was bummed about the lost change. We passed many booths with G3 My Little Ponies, but I didn't have any change to buy them. One merchant told DS he could pick out a toy car for free from him. DS also bought a toy lizard for a quarter. We both decided we were too hot and tired to continue and headed back to the car. Once at the car, I found my bag of change, it had fallen into a side pocket of my bag! We drove home and walked over to a neighbor's sale and I found a CUTE floral broach pin. Not including the $3 lemonade I bought DS, we spent $16.
I plan to resell the Show Stable in my ebay store. I am using the purse right now and have plans for the camelbak. Did I mention that we stopped at the public library on the way to the sales to turn in our summer reading sheet so DS could pick out his final free book for the summer? Score! Here are some pics of our thrift finds this weekend-
